Practice Policies regarding Covid-19

In being mindful of concerns regarding Covid-19, I wanted to address any questions you may have. As a practitioner in a healthcare setting, I would like to reassure you that my office is committed to the health and safety of all visitors and has put in place several measures as precautions.

What precautions have I implemented?

Alcohol based hand sanitizer is available in my therapy rooms.

Handwash/soap is available in all bathrooms.

I wash my hands thoroughly between each patient appointment and refrain from shaking hands.

High frequency touch areas such as door handles are cleaned between each patient.

Elevator buttons and common areas are regularly cleaned.

Tissues are available in our waiting area and in therapy rooms.

If I deem it is not safe to meet face to face, we can transition to online therapy until a time that it is safer to meet in person.

What implications are there in terms of privacy?

In the event that I or any of our patients or visitors (as the case may be) contract Covid-19, I may be required to disclose names and contact details of people I have been in contact with as well as the nature of our contact with the local Health Department. I will protect your privacy in as much as is possible, while giving necessary information.

My commitment to you

I will take precautions and regularly review my health and safety procedures in order to protect all patients.

In the event that I contract Covid-19, I will self isolate until confirmed clear of the virus and offer all sessions online if I am well enough.

Please note that I will not work if I am not well enough, particularly if I have a cough, which can be disruptive to our work.

In the event that a patient or colleague I have had contact with contracts Covid-19, I will advise you and we will discuss whether in person or online sessions would be appropriate for you.

I will advise you if I am planning to travel and make suitable arrangements to continue our work online where possible.

I will be as informed as possible and direct you to suitable sources where your questions are outside of my expertise.

My requests

I request that you wash your hands thoroughly upon arrival at our clinic.

I request that you do not visit the clinic for at least 14 days if you have returned from travel to areas with outbreaks even if you do not have any symptoms or if you have been closely associated with anyone who has traveled.

I request that you do not attend your appointment if you are unwell with any cold, cough or ‘flu like symptoms or if you have been in the proximity of anyone with these symptoms. If you do attend with any such symptoms, you may be asked to return home.

If you are experiencing mild symptoms but would like to still attend, I will offer the appointment online. I will ask you to complete an Online Therapy Contract if you have not already.

At some point, we may need to transition sessions to online in order to safeguard our health. I have HIPPA approved capability for online sessions through my website. Let’s be careful and healthy!
